WEST Coast are desperate for him to re-sign beyond next season, but Eagles' defender Mitch Brown is expected to take a wait-and-see approach after having his bid to join St Kilda scuppered.
Brown, who is contracted for 2013, asked to be traded to the Saints after managing just 14 games for the Eagles over the past two years.
Key defenders Darren Glass, Will Schofield and Eric Mackenzie sit above Brown in West Coast's pecking order down back.
But with 31-year-old Glass nearing the end of his decorated career, West Coast view Brown as an integral part of the team down the track.
The Eagles would have granted Brown's wish to join the Saints had Essendon's Cale Hooker agreed to join West Coast.
But after Hooker declined the offer to leave Essendon, West Coast told 23-year-old Brown he wouldn't be traded.
West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett said he expected Brown to gauge how much game time he gets in 2013 before deciding whether to re-sign with the club.
Meanwhile, former Collingwood goalsneak Brad Dick has been upgraded to West Coast's senior list after an impressive comeback via WAFL ranks this year.
The Eagles recruited Dick through the rookie draft last year, and the 24-year-old strung some solid form together for East Fremantle in the second half of the season after recovering from a serious knee injury.
"I'm really happy," said Dick, whose five-year stint at Collingwood was blighted by a series of shoulder and knee injuries.
"I am so pleased the Eagles gave me an opportunity.
"I haven't done a full pre-season for a long time, so I am looking forward to getting back on the 19th (of November) and getting stuck into training.
"I have been working to my own program while I have been on my break and the body feels good."
The Eagles delisted Andrew Strijk, Gerrick Weedon and Ryan Neates, while Quinten Lynch joined Collingwood, Koby Stevens was traded to the Bulldogs and Lewis Stevenson linked up with Port Adelaide.
West Coast, knocked out in this year's semi-finals by the Magpies, secured Collingwood's Sharrod Wellingham, St Kilda's Jamie Cripps and Melbourne's Cale Morton in a fruitful trading period.
